That was what I said when I saw a frog in the shower with me this morning. I don't like frogs!!! I didn't know what to do. I had conditioner in my hair and face wash in my hands getting ready to soap up, when I saw it. Uche had already left for work, so I couldn't call for him to rescue me. It hopped past me and just hung out on the ledge of the tub while I, in record time, washed my face and rinsed my hair. BLEH!! I live in the States and I shouldn't have to deal with creepy crawlies!!!
It reminded me of another awful experience I had in Manila. It was within the first couple months I was there, and I was hating it. I wanted to go home, bad. One night I woke up at 2:00 am cause I felt something tickling the top of my hand. I opened my eyes and there was a COCKROACH crawling on my hand. I shook my hand and it crawled up the wall and disappeared. I couldn't scream cause I was living with a Filipino family, and I didn't want to wake them all up. At that point I began to think about what it would take to leave. I wasn't sure if I could easily get a taxi that time of night. Plus, I had some stuff in storage on the SIL center, and I didn't want to leave it behind. But, I tell you, if I could've done that easily I was out of there!!
Finally, I told God he had to get me to sleep, because I was afraid to close to my eyes and have it come back. He did and I had to continue dealing with cockroaches for the whole time I was overseas. I don't know if I'll ever get used to them, but I guess if I'm excited to head back to Manila next year I have't been damaged permanently...
